Our Laborer position offers the opportunity to explore many career paths from
power washer, lube tech, heavy equipment operator, all the way up to
supervision. Many of our Supervisors and Managers started as laborers.

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Utility Operator to work at our Wallace
Stone location in Bay Port, MI. The Utility Worker performs various manual labor
tasks around the plant. The Utility Worker will also assist in the maintenance
of the plant and equipment.

Requirements

• Knowledge of  crushing equipment and the processing of materials
• Knowledge of plant equipment and belt/conveyor systems
• Mechanical aptitude
• Intermediate Welding abilities
• Ability to operate crushing plant
• Ability to identify mechanical malfunctions
• Good communication and radio skills
• Ability to follow proper safety procedures and site rules
• Ability to read diagrams and interpret graphs and charts

Responsibilities

• Follows all Wallace, LEVY, MSHA Safety rules and regulations when performing any type of duty on site.
• Verifies that all safety guarding is in place and functional
• Inspects plant and all of its components at start up and shut down
• Adjusts equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and chutes to control product and maintain flow of materials
• Greases equipment and maintains oil levels
• Welds, cuts, splices and fabricates equipment & components
• Observes fugitive dust and keeps water system controlled
• Acts as back-up to Plant Operator by Operating processing plant from primary position if needed
• Cleans up around plant manually or with equipment
• Maintains logs and records
• Provides general housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Operates various pieces of equipment.
• Any Related duties as defined by the Plant Manager
