About The Position

Join our team at our state-of-the-art ethanol plant in Richardton, ND, as a Utility Operator! In this vital role, you'll be instrumental in maximizing production efficiency and ensuring the highest quality standards. You'll work within a dynamic environment, contributing to all aspects of plant operations, from process monitoring and maintenance to quality assurance and load-out. As a Utility Operator, you'll receive comprehensive training and become a key member of a dedicated crew working 12-hour rotating shifts (3-4 days per week). You'll also provide essential relief coverage for Process Operators and assist with scheduling needs, all while upholding our company's policies and objectives.

Requirements

  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with plant operations and control systems (DCS/PLC preferred).
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn and use plant-specific software.
  • Safety Focus: A strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot operational and maintenance issues.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, climb ladders, work in varying weather conditions, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to learn and utilize plant specific computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control plant processes using DCS & PLC systems to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective production.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and troubleshoot operational issues in the field.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of plant equipment.
  • Assist in grain handling, shipping, and receiving operations.
  • Participate in the plant's Quality Assurance program, including sampling and testing process streams.
  • Communicate with the QA lab to implement policies and procedures.
  • Maintain QA records and interpret results, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and assist maintenance technicians with repairs.
  • Help diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance-related issues.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Comply with city, county, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Monitor chemical inventories.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure consistent operations.
  • Contribute to the development and updates of operating procedures and training manuals.
  • Utilize provided computer systems for work orders, and production records.
