The Utility Operator role at the Frankfort, IN location will be primarily working on machinery on production lines working collaboratively in an innovative, team orientated environment. This is a 2nd shift opportunity on-site position; scheduled hours are M-F 2:30 pm-10:30 pm. Training will take place on 1st shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30-50 pounds repeatedly with occasionally lifting up to 70 pounds.
  • Read blueprints and schematics
  • Understand pumps and valves and their application
  • Exhibit mechanical aptitude
  • Computer use efficiency (Excel proficiency)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Basic Electrical / Mechanical / Pneumatic / Hydraulic Systems
  • Possess confidence in ‘hands-on’ trouble shooting ability
  • Plan, implement, and finalize assigned projects with minimal supervision
  • Retain knowledge of the department of operation
  • Perform a variety of tasks throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees.
  • Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.
  • Reacts to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains a pattern of regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Complete plant facilities projects and initiatives to ensure the flow of production line, especially line with trade secrets.
  • Use basic shop tools such as band saws, drills, wrenches, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized area, and take proper care of tools and equipment following 6S principals
  • Be able to work independently repairing, maintaining, and cleaning line equipment
  • Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test and adjust equipment of all types for safe and proper operation.
  • Notify Maintenance Systems Administrator of any malfunctioning equipment or machine deficiencies
  • Assist with lines changeovers
  • Work continuously with AM (autonomous maintenance)
  • Complies with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Uses all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned in order to fulfill Donaldson’s mission, vision and strategic plan objectives.
