JOB DESCRIPTION: The essential job function of the Utility is to assist in line start-up, remove trash and relieve when necessary. Assists in line set up prior to start-up, stocks line with packaging materials such as bags, boxes, strapping, tape, clips, etc. Fills in for line worker as necessary, packs and palletizes cases of cooked food products, labels boxes as needed. Notifies supervisor and or operation specialist if machinery not operating properly. Keeps work area clean and observes Tyson/USDA safety and sanitation rules. Utilizes proper lifting techniques to avoid injury to themselves and others. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment. Operates pallet jack and performs other duties as required or assigned. Monitor and control key product control points such as weight, size, temperature, etc.

Requirements

  • Requires ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Perform routine repetitive tasks
  • Read weights and scales
  • Sufficient mathematical ability to perform mathematical calculations, plot data and make statistically based decisions
  • Willing to become certified to operate a pallet jack
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime and weekends if needed
  • 6 months work history with the same employer
  • 6 months of machine operator experience
  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment
