Position Summary: The Area Utility position may be assigned to work in any area of the Preblend operation during any shift and on any assigned day to meet the staffing needs of the department.

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain a class III tow motor certification.
  • Ability and willingness to scan or input into computer system, all product film, boxes, casings, clips, and ingredients for all daily product runs, including change overs.
  • Ability and willingness to follow formulations on computer and accurate record and report food safety or product information.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum 20 pounds frequently.
  • Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.
  • Ability and willingness to withstand frequent rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.
  • Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
  • 3 months of work history with the same employer

Nice To Haves

  • Machine Operator experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • RF Scanner experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform all roles of the department.
  • Perform SAP transactions to include scanning, printing barcodes, and apply them to vats of meat.
  • Assemble and disassemble and operate equipment safely.
  • Operate a power lift and a forklift.
  • Move materials to and from production lines or to warehouse, or to/from trailers.
  • Ensure proper transfer of materials including ingredients, raw meat, packing, finished goods.
  • Document codes and weights on proper paperwork.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.
  • Perform any other work as assigned by management.
