About The Position
Watco's New Johnsonville Terminal handles primarily dry bulk products (petroleum coke, rock salt, and titanium ore). As a Utility Operator, you will assist the other Operators with removing and resetting barge covers, climbing in and out of barges, operating a skid steer to move materials, and railcar discharging. The position requires maintaining regular attendance and a high level of performance, working outside in extreme weather conditions, and using ladders to access barges. You will also be responsible for securing and assisting in moving barges, communicating with team members using a two-way radio, and following written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule. The Utility Operator will perform structural inspections, monitor equipment for safety and environmental compliance, and maintain all mechanical operations at the transload stations.
