About The Position

ENTRUST Solutions Group is seeking a dynamic Utility Network Specialist to play a strategic role in the development of our consulting services. This position involves directing projects, managing resources, and driving business development within your area of technical expertise. Your primary responsibility will be to provide industry subject matter expertise in the Utilities, GIS, and Esri Utility Network. You will collaborate with Strategic Account Managers and seller-doers across the company to coordinate and develop client project opportunities aligned with staff capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and enhancing customer Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This includes planning for the migration to Esri Utility Network, implementing migration tools, executing field mapping using your utility expertise, and developing processes and practices for migration and testing. You will also create and manipulate data and maps/web applications, develop links between datasets, and perform data analysis on geospatial data. Additionally, you will support the project manager in managing large projects, supervise other staff members, and identify and pursue strategic opportunities to expand our technical services and capabilities. Use your expertise in leveraging GIS technology, integrity, and operator experience will be crucial in managing utility assets, including data analysis, data management, technology strategy, and business-centric development. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting technical problems, performing QA/QC functions, training less experienced employees, planning and implementing GIS migrations, identifying client needs, and executing initiatives with the support of a project manager. You will also maintain, implement, and monitor a system of quality control on all assigned projects, monitor the training needs of direct reports, and schedule training programs with the Project Manager or the Strategic Account Manager. Additionally, you will assist in developing strategic plans for the Business Unit, prepare or assist in preparing proposals, participate in sales calls and client presentations, and develop and maintain quality relationships with clients. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Technology, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university or equivalent technical degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the utility industry related engineering, data applications, and GIS
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with utilities based GIS
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with ESRI-based products
  • Minimum of 1+ years' experience with Esri Utility Network
  • Specific experience performing or supporting data model migrations is a plus
  • Experience with linear referencing and or ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing is a plus
  • IT and or Agile project management experience is a plus
  • Collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and staff members
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency with the Esri technology platform applied to utilities

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical and technical audiences
  • Awareness of Smallworld and Esri software for utilities
  • Experience working with or for a Utility Operator
  • Ability to design project execution plans leveraging SME input and then lead the execution of the established project plan using a variety of team skill levels
  • Ability to mentor staff and team members in best practices and guide them to relevant training information for short term project goals and long-term career goals
  • Involvement in industry groups, such as AGA, GPN, IEEE, Esri user groups, or other relevant industry focused organizations
  • Awareness of technology advancements and potential evolutions impacting the utility space
  • Experience working with engineering teams and an understanding of the use cases and utility technology system drivers
  • Experience with various technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
