About The Position

This new hire will work in MMC, located at 4607 McCormick Drive, Belcamp, MD. The Utility Maintenance Mechanic will report to a Maintenance Team Manager. Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or high school equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in an Industrial Mechanic or Electrician role, preferably in the food industry.
• Communicates effectively, orally/written, up, down and across.
• Facilitates and promotes teamwork & team discussions.
• Demonstrated ability to methodically analyze and correct problems of a varied nature on a wide range of equipment and support systems required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to become a certified forklift operator (required).
• Must be agile enough to maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and go up and down ladders to reach various equipment (required).
• Ability to work overtime daily and weekends, sometimes with minimal notice. Flexibility with shift hours is required.
• Ability to work up to heights of 45 ft. on material handling equipment required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office.
• Candidate must have knowledge of Planned Maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated process improvement ability and leadership.
• Must be able to successfully work individually and as part of a team.
• Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Defense requirements according to McCormick and Regulatory Standards.
• Regular attendance and the ability to work mandatory overtime as scheduled are required.
• PAPR/Respirator may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Associate of Arts or Science.
• Vocational education or Technical Degree/Certification as an Industrial Maintenance Technician would enhance the performance of the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical duties of a complex nature including performing breakdown analysis, basic and major equipment rebuilds, advanced mechanical & intermediate electrical troubleshooting, advanced equipment adjustments, mechanical and electrical maintenance (both planned and unplanned) for production equipment and facilities, basic PLC/ Ladder Logic/ HMI, and fabrication.
• Participates in cross-functional improvement teams and problem-solving activities.
• Serve as a Trainer and Mentor to Maintenance Technicians and Production Technicians.
• Investigate and communicate root cause failure analysis, including recommending and implementing resolutions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and manuals.
• Adheres to safety/GMP standards, ensuring a safe work environment and reporting food safety issues to the site leadership.
• Other Duties as assigned.
