Under the supervision of the Supervisor II, performs skilled mechanical and supervisory work in the operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of potable water distribution and wastewater collections infrastructure. The Utility Mechanic II-Field Operations performs and oversees general underground utility-related work, restoration work, grounds-keeping, and some building maintenance. Employee performs laboring tasks requiring the use of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment and construction equipment with frequent use of light to heavy automotive equipment. Employee is responsible for the upkeep and efficient operation of the tools and/or equipment assigned to the department. Employee may perform janitorial duties when required.
