About The Position

Utility Machine Operator - Woodworking & Manufacturing Position Overview: As a Utility Machine Operator , you will operate a variety of mechanical and computer-aided woodworking machines to produce high-quality furniture parts. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of wood species, and the ability to maintain dimensional accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Prior experience operating woodworking or manufacturing machinery
• Ability to identify wood species and make grading decisions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to read blueprints and production documents
• Comfortable working in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

• Identify and grade various wood species (e.g., Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, Veneers) according to Stickley standards
• Read and interpret production tickets and part drawings
• Operate and maintain woodworking machinery (mechanical and CNC)
• Set up jobs efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize output
• Inspect parts for quality, yield, and dimensional accuracy
• Perform and log preventive maintenance tasks
• Assist with material handling and off-bearing as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
