About The Position

As a Utility Locator at UtiliQuest, you will be responsible for learning and applying safety rules and techniques to locate underground utility lines. This role involves working closely with experienced locators, utilizing specialized tools, and documenting findings to ensure the safety and efficiency of construction projects. The position supports utility operators across America by preventing damage to their infrastructure and ensuring safe excavations.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable MVR record.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in underground utilities.
• Transferable skills such as facility maintenance, technician, route driver, meter reading, landscaping, working outdoors, pest control, surveying, military experience, or construction.

Responsibilities

• Learn utility locating techniques and safety protocols.
• Develop an understanding of local utility infrastructure and regulations.
• Partner with experienced Locators to mark underground utility lines.
• Operate utility locating equipment.
• Document findings using digital mapping tools.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Operate company vehicle in a safe manner.
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed.
