We are hiring Underground Utility Locate Technicians to join our team in the San Antonio area. This role is critical in maintaining safe excavation practices by identifying and marking underground utility lines. If you like working independently, are comfortable driving throughout the city, and can plan your daily route to complete tickets efficiently, this may be the perfect opportunity. What Youll Do Use utility maps, laptop/computer systems, and specialized locating equipment to identify and mark underground utilities (electric, gas, telecom, etc.) Work outdoors daily - walking 46+ miles across job sites and varied terrain. Meet daily productivity goals - typically closing 20+ tickets per day. Safely operate and maintain a company utility truck, entering/exiting frequently throughout the workday. Navigate the San Antonio metro area to complete assigned tickets on time. Communicate utility mark-outs clearly with paint, flags, and documentation. Respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed (rotational schedule) What Youll Earn Starting pay: $18+ per hour (based on experience) Automatic $.50 raise after 60 days , and an additional $.50 raise after 180 days Piece-Rate Compensation - Earnings based on tickets completed Overtime potential on the weekends Paid training well teach you the certifications required. Company vehicle provided for work use. Daily Pay Option available (Wages On-Demand) Full Benefits Package: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and more. What Youll Bring High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to work independently while prioritizing safety Comfortable using technology to close tickets and document field work Ability to route your day efficiently around your assigned area Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to work overtime and Saturdays when needed Valid drivers license (required) Ability to pass a Federal DOT pre-employment drug screening Utility locating or construction experience is a plus - but not required. Physical Requirements Drive 50200+ miles per day, depending on assigned territory. Walk long distances over uneven terrain.
