About The Position

We're currently hiring for Utility Locator Technicians in Lafayette, LA. Experienced Locators are preferred, but we are also accepting inexperienced applicants and will provide paid training! All of our field technicians are provided with: Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc. Military-grade computer device Company issued truck Company fuel card (yes, we pay your gas!) Responsibilities:  Line locators will work under the direction of their company supervisor, performing work that involves visual inspection of predefined construction areas and reading and interpretation of utility maps to determine the presence of underground utilities, while using special electronic equipment to locate and protect the utility from being damaged. Some of these utilities include gas, electric, water, cable, sewer and more. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Upon employment, subject to random drug testing in compliance with DOT guidelines
  • Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
  • Develop a general knowledge of state and local damage prevention regulations
  • Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
