About The Position

ELM Utility Services is seeking a dedicated Utility Locate Technician to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $25 to $30, depending on qualifications. As a Utility Locate Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of essential utility services in the community. You will be provided with comprehensive paid training using ELM's state-of-the-art equipment and technology, including a company vehicle that serves as your mobile office. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately marking underground utilities such as gas, electric, and communication lines to prevent excavation damage. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining the infrastructure that provides heat, light, and communication services critical to modern life. You will utilize ELM's LaunchPoint software system to streamline your daily tasks and ensure efficiency in your work. Your daily responsibilities will include working independently outdoors, completing a route of locate requests, and documenting your findings digitally. You will start your day from home, logging in to receive your daily assignments via a handheld smartphone, and will conclude your workday upon completing your last locate job. Additionally, you may be required to respond to emergency calls and participate in an on-call rotation for weekends and overtime as needed. This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive DOT role, requiring compliance with federal regulations, including passing a pre-employment drug screen. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
