About The Position

This position involves various manual and equipment-based tasks to support plant operations and maintenance. Responsibilities include shoveling, sweeping, lifting, pushing and pulling various objects, raking, and operating equipment such as skid steers, backhoes, pavers, and rollers. The role also includes cross-functional duties in plant maintenance and equipment operation, with a strong emphasis on safety, adaptability, and teamwork. In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs. Flexibility and adaptability to evolving job demands are essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year related experience
  • Production equipment operation
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Troubleshooting
  • OSHA and MSHA regulations
  • Time management

Responsibilities

  • Operates production and plant-specific mobile equipment (e.g., skid steer, water truck, front-end loader) safely and efficiently within company guidelines and safety standards.
  • Performs preventative and routine maintenance on mobile equipment, conveyor belts, and unload equipment, including splicing, replacing idlers, pulleys, drive belts, bearings, cleaning, and lubrication.
  • Conducts daily pre/post-shift inspections and maintains maintenance logs.
  • Uses standard operating procedures to troubleshoot malfunctions or issues.
  • Greases and lubricates plant equipment and maintains plant housekeeping.
  • Uses hand tools and equipment to clean around plant machinery and maintain roadways and parking areas.
  • Participates in plant operations, including production, loading, and shipping.
  • Maintains safe traffic flow throughout the site and good housekeeping in areas of responsibility.
  • Performs cutting and welding under supervision of the plant manager or designated personnel.
  • Maintains strong communication with team members to ensure efficient and safe workflow.
  • Aides in the training of co-workers as needed.
  • Under direct supervision, adjusts equipment to maximize production.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
