About The Position

This position is responsible for entry-level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson's policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for any utility available labor type opening on any shift, such as day, evening, or night shift. Applicants will work in different departments as needed, including but not limited to Tortilla, Taco, Corn, and Packing. This position will be required to learn multiple jobs in the facility, including machine operator jobs. The position may require you to work in hot and or cold environments. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds may be required. Must be able to work weekends and overtime.

Requirements

• Flexibility of wrists and hands.
• Ability to walk, bend, stand, and lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to move to different lines as needed.
• Ability to train and learn machine operator duties to be a backup.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson's policies and procedures.
• Learn multiple jobs in the facility, including machine operator jobs.
• Operate equipment such as press, bagger, fryer, seasoner, blender, pack out, or sheeter as per SOP.
• Prepare for start-up or shut down of equipment.
• Keep accurate records, including the Line Operator's Log.
• Notify the Supervisor and/or QA of contamination.
• Monitor and report any wear and tear on equipment.
• Ensure product specifications are met according to customers' written specifications.
• Maintain good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene.
• Keep the department clean and neat.
• Work as a team member toward task accomplishments.
• Follow company policies/procedures, written or verbal.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned.
