As a Utility Inspector , you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever-evolving project needs. This opportunity will be located on various client sites throughout southern Louisiana.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED (minimum)
  • Valid Driver License
  • 3-5+ years in overhead distribution, pole inspection or utility QA/QC
  • Experience with joint-use (electric, telecom, CATV)
  • Prior field construction experience
  • Experience reading, understanding and interpreting construction redlines
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Utility or Construction)
  • In depth knowledge of NESC electrical codes and regulations for the state of Louisiana
  • Basic knowledge of reporting and construction management programs (ProCore)
  • Understanding of data validation and audit trail awareness
  • The ability to use GPS-enabled mobile inspection software

  • Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt
  • ISO 9001 awareness
  • NESC familiarity or training certification
  • CQA (quality auditor certification)
  • Entergy Power Safe courses for line inspection (substation specific)

Responsibilities

  • Act as an independent verifier of utility and contractor work
  • Ensure compliance with NESC, OSHA, and utility construction standards
  • Identify safety, structural, and workmanship defects
  • Provide defensible documentation for audits, inspections and regulatory review
  • Document Control
  • Professional reporting suitable for regulatory review
  • Photo supported findings
  • Defect prioritization (immediate, scheduled, monitored)
  • Must be able to interact with the public
