Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certification: Ability to obtain a forklift operator certification (on-site training may be provided).
  • Skills: Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, measurements).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry.
  • Attributes: Punctual, safety-conscious, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (8–12 hour shifts).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the day.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Safety: Work safely at all times, be aware of surroundings and understand and comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules, operating procedures, and help hold co-workers responsible for safety related items.
  • Basic Operation: Set up, start, and monitor production machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Quality Control: Perform regular visual inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and report minor mechanical issues or production inconsistencies to the shift supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate daily production logs, recording output quantities, downtime, and any material waste.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work area around the machinery (5S standards).
  • Additional Duties: Be flexible to do other assigned duties that are given by management.
  • Material Movement: Safely operate a sit-down or stand-up forklift to transport raw materials to production lines and move finished goods to the warehouse or shipping docks.
  • Loading/Unloading: Assist in unloading delivery trucks and loading outgoing shipments, ensuring all loads are secure.
  • Inventory Support: Use basic scanning equipment to track inventory movements and assist with periodic cycle counts.
  • Safety Checks: Perform daily pre-operation inspections on the forklift and report any maintenance needs immediately.
