About The Position

PRICE ELECTRIC is looking for an experienced on-site Utility Foreman to act as a field leader and operator to supervise crews and ensure jobs are performed safely, timely, and correctly. If you have planned and led large directional boring, plowing, excavation, and fiber optic installation and testing jobs and will operate equipment as needed to complete work, this is a great opportunity to grow your career.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable clean driving record
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement
  • 4+ years of experience as a HDD locator and/or Drill Operator and operating mini excavators, backhoes, skid loaders, trenchers, small power equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge of HDPE Fusion processes
  • Clear communication skills to speak and write to diverse groups
  • Understand plans, specifications, manuals, and schematics
  • Apply basic math and measurements to calculate setups, material needs, and more
  • Results-oriented field leader who builds effective teams
  • The individual must have the ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs, stand, walk, climb, squat, kneel, sit, use feet and hands for pushing, pulling or grasping.
  • They may have to work extended hours during peak times, up to and including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary contact for internal and external customers, other subcontractors, and local and state authorities
  • Planning for and accountably maintaining a safe work environment that complies with trenching, excavation, DOT and other safety rules and company policies
  • Coaching, mentoring, and training team members to plan accurate, well organized work setups; proficiently operate, secure, and maintain various equipment and tools; set up and maintain traffic control; etc.
  • Attending large project meetings from initial start-up through weekly updates and close-out
  • Understanding work scope in detail
  • Creating and following a schedule under Project Manager direction and updating plans as changes are needed
  • Communicating clear plans and updates to the crew
  • Managing material, labor and equipment to ensure work is performed to planned specs
  • Serving as a point person for Requests for Information, Change Orders, etc.
  • Conducting inspections to ensure work is performed to high quality standards using safe and lean work practices
  • Consistently using the construction management system to complete tasks, daily logs, observations, timesheets, emails, etc.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues and involving the right team members to make sound decisions
  • Capably managing complex and technical installations, including operating underground utility equipment with the team as needed
  • Performing additional duties as assigned
