About The Position

This position works under the supervision of the Plant Services Manager. The Utility Engineers maintain the hospital building equipment, interior walls, flooring, ceilings, furniture, restroom fixtures, televisions, DVD players, doors, door hardware, locksmith work, lighting, bed, crib, gurney repairs and vehicle maint. The Utility Engineers are also first responders to Code Red alarms, perform fire drills, check egress lighting, smoke stop compartment systems, maintain medical gas cylinder inventory, repair/replace med gas outlets, perform department moves, perform maintenance on refrigerators, freezers, ice machines and assist with any on or off campus functions. Qualifications: Education High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required) Or Equivalent Experience Equivalent hospital maintenance experience (required) Licenses and Certifications California Drivers License - Other With acceptable driving record (required) Work Experience Minimum two (2) years Hospital and/or commercial building maintenance experience (required) Or For Internal Candidates Only - Successful demonstration of the following competencies: -Knowledge of Hospital Facility -Basic Plumbing -Proper Hand Tool Use -Understanding of Infection Control Basics (required) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements
