About The Position

The Utility Engineer at Veolia North America is responsible for performing general engineering work as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Lead Mobile Engineer. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity of engineering spaces and ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards as outlined in the contract with customers. The position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers - Local 39.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Selected applicants will be hired provisionally pending the results of a full background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Changing of air filters in spaces where no fans or machinery are in operation.
  • General cleaning of engineering spaces.
  • Cleaning and painting of non-operating mechanical equipment, which has been shut down, locked out, and tagged by a Journeyman Engineer.
  • Perform general laborer work such as loading, unloading, and moving materials, and running errands for the Engineering Department.
  • Lamp replacement and cleaning of fixtures, excluding repair or replacement of fixtures, electric cords, outlets, or ballasts.
  • Furniture moving, modular systems breakdown, and set-up.
  • Preventative Maintenance in all restrooms.
