Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends. This position is responsible for maintaining product flow and relieving team members on line for breaks and filling in during labor shortages while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicants have been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule.
  • Shift Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday including holidays, beginning at 4:00 a.m. until job is complete. Typically, this position will average 40+ hours a week. Hours are subject to change depending on Production needs.
  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering on-site and changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. The Company provides appropriate clothing and footwear. No external jewelry may be worn on the jobsite excluding medical ID bracelets and necklaces. Only body piercings covered by an on-farm clothing are permitted.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to not own and avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and must be able to push/pull 1000-1500 lbs. (on wheels). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; bend over; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Respirator, Safety glasses, Safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required when handling chemicals. Ear plugs will be used as needed.
  • Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.
  • Team Member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lock out Tag out, and Personal Protective equipment. Team Member is expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety related risks

  • Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Place hatching eggs in properly labeled buggies. (40%)
  • Place trayed eggs into the setters. (10%)
  • Clean and sanitize the egg room as well as other hatchery equipment (egg flats/trays, farm racks & setter buggies) using a high-pressure and regular water hose. (10%)
  • Monitor and record temperatures in the hatchers and setters. (10%)
  • Assist egg truck driver during pickups and deliveries. (10%)
  • Assist Chick truck driver with Broilers (10%)
  • Operate a high-pressure and regular water hose, maintain foot pans and hand sanitizer, pack export eggs into cases, assist the Egg Room Lead/Shipping Clerk, Sanitation, & Chick Processing departments as needed, and maintain a clean and organized work area. (10%)
