About The Position

The Utility Custodian keeps the college buildings in a clean and sanitary condition. Creates and maintains safe, clean, and inviting campuses for students, employees and the public.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of work experience in cleaning and/or custodial services.
Good working knowledge of housekeeping and general maintenance procedures.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) years of work experience in cleaning and/or custodial services.

Responsibilities

Check, restock, and clean restrooms.
Sweep, scrub, mop and spot clean.
Use emergency clean-up kits to clean up bodily fluids as needed.
Clean lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, classrooms.
Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
Dust furniture. Clean walls (wallpaper and painted), ceiling, and woodwork. Wash windows, door panels, and thresholds.
Empty wastebaskets.
Keep outside entrances clean (remove leaves and dirt, clean windows, remove trash and debris).
Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
Unstop toilets and water fountains and perform minor plumbing procedures.
Spread ice melt and remove snow, as needed.
Maintain cleaning equipment, supplies, & products
Be willing to adapt to the needs of the college.
Basic computer knowledge to complete training, work orders, etc.
Uniform and personal appearance kept clean and professional.
Meet the required standards of the college and within the set time limits.
Ensure security of assigned master key
Attend specialized training activities that enhance performance.
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Other duties as assigned.
