PUBLIC WORKS - Utility Construction Laborer
About The Position
Are you a hands-on individual with experience in utility construction? The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Laborer to join our Utility Construction Division. What You'll Do: Perform essential skilled manual labor for the installation, replacement, repair and maintenance of the City's water and sewer lines. Assist with water and sewer taps, pipe laying, backfilling and site compaction. Operate and maintain a variety of equipment and tools, including sewer rodders, jackhammers, trenchers and boring machines. Install and repair hydrants, meter valves and related pipeline apparatus. Work on a rotation with the call-out crew, subject to on-call and call-back work. Adhere strictly to all departmental safety training, policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) or more years of experience in utility maintenance and/or construction OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver license.
