About The Position

This is an entry-level position that includes moderate physical labor outdoors in all types of weather. We will train the ideal candidate and help them in their quest for advancement throughout a hopefully long career here at the City of Plano. Train with our seasoned staff members and enjoy the opportunity to become a TCEQ licensed water and/or wastewater operator, along with other certificate programs. Cross-train with other departments and learn how to repair water main breaks, service line leaks, and other repairs. Train to become a licensed CDL driver. Hours for this position are 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. Overtime opportunities are abundant for trained employees willing to work outside regular hours. After a six-month probationary period and proper training, employees hired for this position must participate in an on-call rotation.
