The Utility Clerk role is responsible for general maintenance and cleaning, ensuring high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members, and managing carts/flatbeds in the parking lot. Team members are expected to carry out assigned functions, support club policies, act with honesty and integrity, prioritize member concerns, ensure a safe and positive environment, embrace inclusion and diversity, work collaboratively, be agile, innovate, adapt, and maintain a friendly attitude. They are also expected to deliver service excellence, resolve member concerns, and uphold GOLD Member and Club Standards daily, which include maintaining a grand opening look, ensuring items are stocked, executing promotional plans, accurate signage, and cleanliness. Additionally, team members should understand and connect consistent execution to business performance.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete required training and certification processes
  • May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions
  • Must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age restricted areas

Nice To Haves

  • Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred
  • Prior retail/wholesale experience preferred
  • Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT

  • Ensure all items are stocked and promotional plans executed
  • Maintain visible accurate signage
  • Ensure the club is Clean and organized, inside and out
  • Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for your department
  • See the connection between consistent execution and the positive impact it can have on the business
  • Provide members with prompt and courteous service and assistance
  • Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all areas of the club including the sales floor, offices, restrooms and the outdoor grounds and parking lot
  • Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance
  • Remove any trash or debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club
  • Ensure that carts are well-stocked at the club entrance
  • Verify that all carts are in working order and clean
  • Remove carts that are not suitable for use
  • Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning duties including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, washing glass, emptying trash receptacles and pulling pallets
  • Maintain outdoor grounds of club property including cart corrals, sidewalks and outdoor trash receptacles
  • Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities across the club in an efficient manner
  • Operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor and cardboard baler machines in a safe and efficient manner following established safety standards
  • Restock maintenance / cleaning supplies and ensure supply areas on the receiving dock and maintenance closets are clean, neat and organized
  • Perform minor and routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs may be required
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job
