Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of customer service, billing, or related work experience or equivalent education.
• Professional phone demeanor and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a high accuracy level.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Ability to identify and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ability to research and interpret information.

Nice To Haves

• Accounts payable experience.
• Experience working with utility accounts and/or the energy industry.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Audit invoices for accuracy and ensure seamless processing.
• Track and resolve exceptions related to utility invoices.
• Collaborate with vendors to address billing discrepancies.
• Maintain account and vendor information in systems.
• Monitor receipt of invoices ahead of due dates to prevent late fees.
• Generate system reports to identify missing or outstanding invoices.
• Process current and historical invoices while verifying data entry accuracy.
• Review billing exceptions for errors such as misapplied payments and incorrect meter reads.
• Communicate with vendors regarding billing errors and missing invoices.
• Provide detailed explanations of invoice issues to team members and participate in client communication.
