About The Position

We are seeking a Utility Arborist to join our team. This role provides both field and office support for managing vegetation on distribution rights-of-way, ensuring the safety and reliability of the APC distribution system in these regions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Horticulture, or a related field.
• Knowledge of safety rules and practices related to overhead line and field work.
• General knowledge of distribution operations and rights-of-way practices.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Ability to work with GIS systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with contractors, property owners, and clients.
• Ability to make sound decisions and accurately document inspections.
• Possession of an AL Restricted Use Pesticide Applicator's License or ability to obtain one immediately upon hire.
• ISA Certified Arborist License within one year.
• ISA Utility Arborist License when requirements are met.
• Willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
• Ability to establish priorities and motivate self and others.
• Team player capable of working in varying conditions.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts with landowners.
• Commitment to ethical behavior and adherence to the Southern Style (Unquestionable Trust, Total Commitment, Superior Performance).

Nice To Haves

• Extended knowledge of distribution systems is preferred.
• Experience in utility vegetation management is highly desired.
• Experience working with contractor labor is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Vegetation Management plans.
• Manage pricing, budgeting, and contracts.
• Oversee contractor crews and ensure quality control.
