About The Position

The Utilities Systems Analyst III plays a critical role in providing advanced technical support for the Water Resources Department's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks. This position involves formulating, developing, and implementing integrated SCADA network architectures, as well as maintaining and upgrading Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). The analyst serves as a primary liaison with the Information Services Division and is responsible for evaluating vendor products, maintaining documentation, and providing on-call support during non-business hours.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Five years of work experience in information systems, including two years of SCADA or Utility Network experience.
  • Valid Class D Arizona Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial control systems as an electrician or instrument technician.
  • Experience in installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of electronic controls and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complex technical support for SCADA networks.
  • Develop and implement integrated SCADA network architectures.
  • Upgrade, program, maintain, and repair Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).
  • Assist with project management for computer and SCADA network architecture.
  • Program Remote Telemetering Units (RTU) at various sites.
  • Evaluate, test, and review vendor products.
  • Install, configure, and maintain SCADA network operating systems and application software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network communications, software, and hardware.
  • Participate in long- and short-range technology planning for the Water Resources Department.
  • Maintain documentation regarding SCADA network configuration and service records.
