Utilities Plant Operator performs certified and skilled work or directs and oversees the performance of certified and skilled work in the operation of Advanced Water Reclamation, Potable Water supply, distribution systems, and solids management to provide high quality treatment of water and wastewater in compliance with Florida Administrative Codes and local rules and regulations. The ideal candidate is an experienced Licensed Florida Water or Wastewater Treatment Plant operator. The candidate would possess general knowledge of Operating principles and practices applicable to Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities. The candidate would possess knowledge of written, oral, computer communication, and analytical skills. The candidate would have knowledge of Chemistry related to the operation of Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities. They would have the ability to communicate effectively with others, maintain detailed operation records and logs, and safely work with various chemicals. The candidate would possess the ability to perform other operations and maintenance procedures and work in confined spaces. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter and highly motivated. The candidate would possess the willingness to respond to emergency situations to provide for public health and safety. The candidate must be able to work overtime, rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate would possess the ability to use a computer and related software such as SCADA, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. The candidate must possess a high school diploma or a GED Certificate and possess of a valid driver’s license.
