About The Position

The Utility Mechanic focuses on operating, maintaining, and repairing critical facility research support equipment. You'll work within the Utilities department to ensure optimal performance of essential systems including boilers, air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment systems, heat exchangers, and their supporting infrastructure. Your role is vital to maintaining the facility's research capabilities through reliable utility operations.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of relevant field experience combined with trade school training, or 5 years of total field experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
Basic computer proficiency is required, including familiarity with email and internet navigation.
Microsoft Word knowledge is considered beneficial.

Nice To Haves

A Stationary Engineer's license.
Facility maintenance certifications

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on utilities equipment and troubleshoot system issues as they arise, determining whether repairs can be handled internally or require outside services.
Following work orders from supervision, you'll document all maintenance activities to ensure continuous equipment operation records.
You'll make safe equipment adjustments during operations and execute proper start-up and shut-down procedures.
Safety protocols are paramount-you'll consistently apply lock out/tag out processes to isolate equipment before maintenance work.
Embracing JLL's safety culture, you'll adhere to all company policies while completing required in-person and computer-based training promptly.
