The Water Division ensures a safe and reliable water supply for all of Orange County Utilities¿ customers, and we operate three regional water supply facilities and nine satellite water supply facilities that collectively produce approximately 60 million gallons per day. The Water Division is seeking a highly qualified Utilities Maintenance Coordinator. This position will be responsible for coordination and assistance of maintenance activities performed by Orange County personnel and outside contractors at various active and abandoned water treatment plant sites to include all related equipment, grounds and buildings. Supervision of junior maintenance staff and temps Related to drinking water treatment facilities. General Functions: Coordinates maintenance activities by scheduling work activities to maintain facilities in efficient operating condition, reviews work performed by a variety of trades, responds to emergency situations to correct operating problems in a timely fashion. Work performed is generally routine technical work coordinating one or two crews. Work requires independent judgment under the general supervision of a designated supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent and four (4) years of maintenance experience in water, wastewater or other utility related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver¿s License.
  • May be required to possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver¿s License based on area of assignment.
  • Based on area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain the appropriate certification or license.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Maximo and experience in the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities. Four years¿ experience in water plant maintenance.
  • Inventory and supply ordering, job planning. Prefer someone with experience with Maximo to track work and preventive maintenance.
  • Preforming training, reading blueprints, specifications and technical materials.
  • Water Operation licenses is a plus.
  • Significant experience with maintenance operations at industrial facilities.
  • Advanced understanding of Plant Process control: Chemistry of Process; troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Maximo, Outlook, Microsoft Word
  • Strong understanding of operational relationship of plant to mechanical equipment

Responsibilities

  • Ordering parts and supplies and keeping accurate records related to plant maintenance
  • Communicate effectively both written and oral with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Review current activities and programs for effectiveness and implementing improvements where and when necessary.
  • Evaluate direct reports for performance goals and compliance with policies and provide feedback on performance to employees on specific behaviors and / or results
  • Coordinate maintenance activities as they relate to plant operations including scheduling personnel.
  • Assist with maintaining and repairing equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, and general upkeep of facilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
