The first-ever facility of its kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact. The LMF Utilities Infrastructure Lead is responsible for providing Subject Matter Expert operational support, guidance, and Continuous Improvement of the LMF Utilities Operations team, delivering a Safety First, Quality Always operation, ensuring reliable supply of all Site Utilities across the Foundry Site. They will coordinate employees and activities related to the safe and efficient Operation and Maintenance of LMF Site Utilities and Tank Farm systems/processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field, or HS Diploma/GED with 10-year relevant Utilities work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of applicable manufacturing-related Operations experience, preferably in a regulated/GMP Utilities/Pharma environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Site Utilities systems/processes and quality parameters to ensure that the systems are being operated properly and in compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety & Quality Standards, and Industry Best Practices.
  • Track and trend the effective delivery and usage volumes of Site Utilities to Site Key Stake Holders and End Users.
  • Develop Operations Standard Work and SOPs for the proper manner to operate and maintain equipment and processes to ensure that systems operate within the controlled parameters and meet/exceed user requirements.
  • Provide customer/end user consultation and notifications on issues that involve the Site Utilities Systems – outage coordination, system recovery, business continuity/emergency preparedness.
  • Act as the Utilities Team Operational Readiness coordinator through Foundry Project Delivery and C&Q activities to ensure Utilities Operational preparedness/ownership at start-up
  • Participate in or drive Continuous Improvement initiatives or special projects within the Utilities process team – ensuring inspection readiness at all times.
  • Support the Utilities Site Master Plan by understanding overall site utilities generation needs and distribution capacity by monitoring the Utilities usage and forecast by area/building and staying abreast of future Site requirements to align the Operations Team capacity and capabilities.
  • Comply with and support departmental HSE plans.
  • Ensure overall Operations comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Complete process hazard reviews as applicable.
  • Assist in deviation investigations into human error and process upsets.
  • Lead Operational Root Cause Failure Investigations and After-Action Reviews
  • Ensure the successful implementation and effectiveness of CAPA actions.
  • Facilitate the Utilities Process Team meetings and departmental scorecard/metric reporting
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams successfully through projects.
  • Acts as the liaison/representative between LMF FUME and local utility municipalities.
  • Support internal and external inspections/audits as the Utilities Operations SME.
  • Train and develop Utilities Operators, Specialists, Technicians, and Supervisors.
  • Participate as required in teams, committees or other groups and/or individually to achieve the FUME departmental, LMF site and/or company goals.
