About The Position

The Utilities Facilities Operator is responsible for the proper and safe execution of activities related to all facility utilities such as the boiler, natural gas, steam, compressed air, and effluent pretreatment plant systems. The Utilities Facilities Operator is responsible for operating within compliance with regional codes and safety standards.  This position will also participate in the support of the Tissue Machine department.

Requirements

  • High School or GED equivalent is required, Technical Diploma preferred
  • 5 years of experience in an operations or industrial maintenance role is preferred
  • Computer systems aptitude and PC skills are preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are preferred
  • High attention to detail is required
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Boiler and effluent treatment operation experience is preferred
  • Industrial maintenance experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tasks for the operation, maintenance, and ongoing improvements for the boiler, natural gas, steam, compressed air, and effluent pretreatment plant systems, and other facility utilities.
  • As the on-shift Fire Marshall, inspect and ensure the reliable operation of plant fire protection equipment and systems
  • Report on current equipment availability
  • Conduct safety inspections and routine preventative maintenance tasks
  • Participate in environmental audits for compliance and permits
  • Coordinate with the Tissue Machine team and conduct routine operational inspections and tasks to support the Tissue Machine Department, as needed.
