About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Site Utilities Estimator to join our team. The Site Utilities Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of site utility projects, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and other related infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on site utilities preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in construction cost estimation software and tools, ideally HCSS HeavyBid.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Ability to interpret project plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Project Assessment: Evaluate project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine the scope of work and materials needed for site utility projects.
  • Cost Estimation: Utilize cost estimation software and tools to accurately estimate the cost of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services required for site utility projects. Ideally HCSS HeavyBid.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids for site utility projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit bids and negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to obtain the best value for materials and services.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze project costs and identify areas for cost savings or value engineering without compromising quality or safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of project estimates, bids, and correspondence for future reference and analysis.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with site utility projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, cost factors, and technological advancements to continuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
