About The Position

Uses Ultrasonic Testing Units to test and inspect products at various stages of production process to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Assists in QA projects as required.

Requirements

  • UT Level 2 Certification.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Six to twelve months experience in quality or technical function: or equivalent of Engineering Studies.
  • Understand and be familiar with AMS-STD-2154 for ultrasonic testing.
  • Near Vision: Jaegar (Type 1 or equivalent)
  • Color Vision: Must be able to distinguish and differentiate between colors used during the product acceptance/certification process.
  • MS office suite (i.e Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical interference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Wide variety of routine tasks that involve some choice of action within limits.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects product integrity: surface quality and cracks.
  • Verifies correct stamping of heat number, alloy, size/diameter and log number.
  • Follows UT Work Instructions and UT Techniques Sheets guidelines.
  • Performs Ultrasonic Testing Inspections in accordance to UT Work Instructions and UT Technique Sheets.
  • Inspects surface quality using Profilometer.
  • Studies and Understands Customer Requirements and Tolerances applicable to inspections.
  • Assists with UT during Casting if needed.
  • Assists with Alscan Testing during casting if needed.
  • Inspects equipment functionality and reports to Supervisor any anomalies.
  • Cleans UT equipment/machinery when required.
  • Replaces UT parts when needed/required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
