About The Position

The CEO of the Surgical Hospital is responsible for overseeing all operational functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality surgical services while managing clinical and financial operations. This role involves strategic planning, compliance with regulations, and fostering positive relationships among staff and stakeholders to enhance the facility's performance and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a top administrative or management position in the health field, particularly in a surgical hospital.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience.
  • Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, employees, and patients.

  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and legislative issues.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all aspects of the Surgical Hospital's operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and facility departments.
  • Report pertinent activities to the Governing Board at regular intervals.
  • Plan and manage the services provided by the facility.
  • Oversee the management of the Partnership as outlined in the Operating or Limited Partnership Agreement.
  • Lead discussions during Monthly Operations Review calls with USPI's Home Office Business Operations team.
  • Ensure compliance with USPI's policies and procedures related to internal controls.
  • Develop and control staffing needs, operations budget, and capital budget.
  • Negotiate and manage external contracts with physicians and service providers.
  • Establish pricing for procedures based on cost analysis and market standards.
  • Foster positive work relationships among all departments and act as a liaison with USPI's Home Office.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with departmental policy and procedure manuals.
  • Monitor financial performance to avoid cash flow problems.
  • Hold monthly staff meetings to outline facility goals and priorities.
  • Manage employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop employee productivity analysis and manage workforce efficiency.
  • Implement training and orientation programs for all employees.
  • Manage employee files and records and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance of surgical programs with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director on surgical services evaluation and development.
  • Manage clinical departments and supervise contracted services.
  • Develop and implement a sales/marketing plan for the facility.
  • Administer the infection control program and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Process credentialing of practitioners and collaborate with the Medical Director on bylaws.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, well-maintained, and safe for patients and staff.
  • Attend corporate meetings and represent the facility in professional associations.
