As a UI/UX Design Intern, you'll work alongside experienced designers and researchers at IBM Studios Austin. You'll contribute to the design of intuitive, user-centered experiences while learning industry best practices and tools.Your responsibilities may include:• Assisting UX researchers in testing concepts with users and integrating findings into design directions.• Supporting the creation of low- and high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and design specifications using tools like Figma.• Helping design user flows, interactions, and layouts using IBM's design systems.• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and marketing.• Participating in agile ceremonies, design critiques, and team workshops.• Engaging in learning opportunities to grow your design skills and understanding of enterprise software.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Examples of design work (coursework, personal projects, or freelance) that demonstrate an understanding of user-centered design.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Exposure to design systems, agile practices, or design thinking (through coursework or personal exploration).
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
