About The Position

The purpose of this position is to process donated goods in a timely manner to provide the retail stores with a sufficient amount of goods and to perform daily tasks related to the operation of a retail sales operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Ability to understand and speak English well enough to communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to stand for entire shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to add and subtract to complete required documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of activities related to processing donated merchandise including loading, unloading, sorting, inspecting, completing forms, pricing, tagging, hanging, packaging, and delivering a variety of soft and hard goods.
• Process store returns and prepare for shipment back to the main plant.
• Work efficiently in performing assigned job duties to achieve production goals.
• Ask questions if unsure about how to perform job duties.
• Perform housekeeping duties such as dusting fixtures and furniture, keeping the store merchandise well organized, keeping racks properly arranged, shelves neat, and floors swept as needed, including restrooms.
• Receive work and safety instructions and answer questions.
• Communicate with management, co-workers, program participants, and the public.
• Assist in training employees and program participants as required.
• May be trained to operate cash register, make change, complete credit card transactions, arrange monies for safekeeping, and answer the telephone and respond to customer inquiries.
• May assist customers in a courteous manner by answering questions and directing to dressing rooms, etc. as assigned.
• Work overtime as required.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
• Safeguard company property, including donated goods.
• Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of company property.
• Act safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Promote and demonstrate cooperation and teamwork.
• Assist and share knowledge and information with other employees as needed.
• Use good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness.
• Work with, train, and/or act as a good example for program participants receiving training at Goodwill.
