The Opportunity This role is ideal for a hands-on, data-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants ownership in the success of the department. You’ll co-lead the used car operation with a primary focus on volume growth, gross performance, inventory strategy, CRM execution, and team development. If you enjoy being on the floor, working deals, training your team, and constantly refining the process—this role was built for you.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of used car management or comparable automotive leadership experience
  • Proven track record of increasing used vehicle volume and profitability
  • Strong knowledge of appraisals, pricing strategy, inventory control, and market analytics
  • Experience managing reconditioning and controlling costs
  • Confident leader with strong communication, TO, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Data-driven, adaptable, and solutions-oriented
  • High energy, positive attitude, and passion for the business
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Drive used vehicle volume and gross through smart strategy and execution
  • Analyze KPIs and market trends to continuously improve results
  • Partner with executive leadership to hit and exceed departmental goals
  • Maximize CRM usage to improve lead response, follow-up, TOs, and close rates
  • Source and manage high-quality used inventory aligned with market demand
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance turn, volume, and profitability
  • Price inventory competitively using real-time market data
  • Oversee reconditioning for quality, speed, and cost efficiency
  • Build strong relationships with auctions, wholesalers, and vendor partners
  • Lead, coach, and motivate sales consultants to consistently perform at a high level
  • Create a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer-first thinking
  • Conduct regular training on process, product knowledge, and selling skills
  • Provide clear expectations, feedback, and growth opportunities
  • Accurately appraise vehicles using condition, market data, and dealership objectives
  • Ensure appraisals are consistent, fair, and profit-focused
  • Continuously adjust pricing strategies to stay competitive and maximize return
  • Ensure a seamless, professional experience from first contact to delivery
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and effectively
  • Consistently meet or exceed CSI and reputation benchmarks
