About The Position

The Used Car Buyer at Mercedes-Benz of McKinney is responsible for prospecting, appraising, and purchasing vehicles from current owners. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of Used Car Buyer dealership experience preferred.
  • Mercedes-Benz or luxury brand experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Excellent communication and customer focus skills.
  • Ability to meet company's production and quality standards.
  • Outstanding computer skills required.
  • Previous dealership, selling, or marketing experience preferred.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with current used vehicle owners to purchase their vehicles.
  • Approach and greet dealership customers to appraise and offer to purchase their vehicles.
  • Utilize Sonic Automotive automated inventory management system.
  • Understand market trends and changes in the geographic market.
  • Provide guidance and support to dealership Sales Associates regarding purchasing used vehicles.
  • Appraise used vehicles and attend daily trade walks.
  • Exhibit a high level of commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Understand federal, state, and local laws governing retail automotive sales.
  • Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership productivity standards.
  • Attend product and sales training courses as requested.
  • Keep abreast of new products, features, and accessories and their benefits to guests.
  • Explain depreciation and equity values to guests.
  • Introduce guests to sales department personnel for new vehicle sales after purchasing their existing vehicle.
  • Maintain an owner follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Maintain a prospect development system for current used vehicle prospects and schedule appointments.
  • Attend sales meetings and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Review and analyze actions to better utilize time and plan effectively.
