Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • 5+ years of automotive technician experience is required.
  • Ability to drive and handle various vehicle makes models, and sizes.
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, electrical, engine, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive trade or technical school is preferred.
  • ASE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and repairs vehicles to specifications, ensuring they are safe to drive by test-driving vehicles, testing components and systems, and using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
  • Examines vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions.
  • Tears down, repair, replace, and/or rebuild faulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, linkages, pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
  • Disassembles units and inspects parts for wear using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Rewires ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels and repairs manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Closely inspect parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, and other items.
  • Adequately explains the technical diagnosis and required repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
  • Follows Company safety policies and practices and immediately reports all accidents to the Manager/Supervisor.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.
  • Follow scheduled hours as needed, defined by your manager.
