The position involves performing preventive maintenance and repairs on transport refrigeration units (TRU) according to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) procedures. This includes maintaining and repairing refrigeration trailer interior walls, floors, doors, and accessories such as bulkheads, evaporator guards, and remote controllers. The role requires operating TRUs in normal diagnostic and service test modes, diagnosing and repairing TRU electrical systems using technical manuals and diagnostic tools, and maintaining tractor climate control systems including auxiliary power units (APU) and communication systems. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance on tractor-trailer braking system components, install and dismount tires, conduct fuel sampling, and assess maintenance repair and replacement needs. The position emphasizes compliance with company policies and procedures, teamwork, and a commitment to integrity and customer service.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on transport refrigeration units (TRU) according to OEM procedures.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration trailer interior walls, floors, doors, and accessories.
  • Diagnose and repair TRU electrical systems using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and repair tractor climate control systems including auxiliary power units (APU).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tractor-trailer braking system components.
  • Install and dismount tires using tire tools and machinery.
  • Conduct fuel sampling and monitor fuel drops for safety compliance.
  • Identify and perform warrantable repairs and complete warranty claims.
  • Assess maintenance repair and replacement needs and consult with others for solutions.
  • Complete work orders and maintain logs and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist other technicians with equipment repair and maintenance.
  • 3 years’ experience in trailer refrigeration maintenance and repair.
  • EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
  • Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations.
  • Both Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) driver's certification.
  • Experience maintaining tractors and trailers.
  • Thermo King Master Tech, Carrier Master Tech or equivalent certification.
  • Experience using computer applications such as email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • ASE Certification.
