About The Position

The position involves diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing major drive train components such as transmissions, automated transmissions, and differentials according to written procedures. The role also includes advanced diagnostics on tractor engines, drive trains, HVAC systems, and communication systems using technical and electronic equipment. Responsibilities extend to making electrical wiring repairs to tractor and trailer light assemblies, maintaining and repairing advanced brake system components, and performing tire maintenance including installation and balancing. The technician will also diagnose and repair communication equipment, perform inspections, and maintain various Walmart equipment. Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair, including advanced diagnostics.
  • 1 year's experience in HVAC and diagnostics.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
  • Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.16.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses, maintains, repairs, and replaces major drive train components according to written procedures.
  • Performs advanced diagnostics on tractor engines, drive trains, HVAC systems, and communication systems.
  • Makes electrical wiring repairs to tractor and trailer light assemblies.
  • Diagnoses, maintains, repairs, and replaces advanced brake system components.
  • Maintains and repairs tractor-trailer tires, including installation and balancing.
  • Diagnoses, maintains, repairs, and replaces communication equipment.
  • Performs 8-point inspections on yard and over-the-road tractors.
  • Identifies and performs warrantable repairs and processes warranty claims.
  • Provides preventative maintenance on tractor-trailer brake system components.
  • Completes work orders, records, logs, and other documents according to established procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with individuals or groups.
  • Maintains and repairs driveline components and trailers.
  • Washes tractor-trailers and maintains wash bay equipment.
  • Receives fuel drops and monitors safety compliance.
