About The Position

As a Tax Technical Staff intern within the Rewards practice at EY, you will have the opportunity to work with global clients to address some of their most complex people-related challenges. This role is designed to help you develop relevant and flexible tax-compliant compensation, benefit, and incentive approaches for clients. You will advise clients on regulatory matters and the taxation of compensation and benefit programs, including both U.S. and global programs. Your responsibilities will include benchmarking and designing executive and broad-based compensation and benefit arrangements, as well as supporting clients in complex transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. This will involve conducting financial due diligence on HR, compensation, and benefit programs, identifying tax, financial, and regulatory risks, and performing calculations related to golden parachute provisions under Section 280G of the Internal Revenue Code. In addition to these responsibilities, you will also draft technical memorandums and opinions addressing various Internal Revenue Code Sections, including but not limited to 83, 162(m), 280G, and 409A. You will provide support to EY's Tax, Assurance, and Consulting functions as a subject matter resource on compensation and benefits. This internship will not only enhance your technical skills but also provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the strategic role of HR in business transformation and workforce evolution.
