About The Position
The position involves completing work assignments and priorities by utilizing company policies, data, and resources effectively. The role requires collaboration with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations. The individual will carry out tasks, communicate progress and information, and determine ways to address improvement opportunities while adapting to changes, difficulties, and feedback. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity is essential, which includes implementing related action plans and applying the Open Door Policy in executing business processes and practices. In this role, the individual will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on Walmart equipment, such as trailers, under the direct supervision of a qualified shop technician. Responsibilities include creating and processing work orders, assessing maintenance and repair needs, identifying needed parts, and selecting the best possible solutions. The technician will conduct maintenance and repairs, which may involve dismounting/installing tires, repairing flats, balancing tires, adjusting landing gear, and replacing lights, all while adhering to company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Communication with individuals or groups, both verbally and in writing, is crucial, as is the completion of work orders, records, logs, and other documentation according to established procedures. Additionally, the role includes receiving fuel drops and conducting fuel sampling by monitoring the drop for safety compliance, following procedures for fuel additives, and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping.
