About The Position

The Walmart Energy Transformation team is a newly reimagined energy team that was created to ensure the organization has the resources and internal positioning to deliver on Walmart's energy-related regenerative goals. We are a team of seasoned energy veterans dedicated to realizing Walmart's regenerative commitments and leveraging Walmart's platform to support the decarbonization of our customers, associates, communities, and suppliers. Because energy touches everything, we work across Walmart, particularly real estate, facilities, supply chain, network design, transportation and customer experience. We have come from across Walmart, utilities, developers, banking, clean energy consulting and environmental NGOs. We are innovators and change agents determined to make an impact. We are analytical and entrepreneurial; thoughtful and practical. This position is based in Bentonville, Arkansas; a full relocation package can be made available, but we are not considering remote applicants.

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years experience of financial analysis and valuation of energy projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or Energy and Environmental Studies; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in investment banking, project finance, project development strongly preferred.
  • Experience with solar, batteries, fuel cells, electric vehicle charging, and energy efficiency strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial electric utility tariffs and retail rate structures, VPPAs, or tax equity a plus.
  • Strong communication and project management abilities are crucial.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to multitask and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Accounting or Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Energy Transformation team's onsite energy solutions, energy efficiency projects, electric vehicle charging business, and renewable energy investments and contracts through financial analysis and modeling.
  • Provide decision support by building and validating financial models for energy capital projects, ensuring consistency in methodology and market assumptions.
  • Prepare business cases, analyze vendor options, and present findings to stakeholders during capital approval.
  • Analyze financial and energy market performance.
  • Help develop strategic capital plans and presentations by compiling and summarizing financial analysis results.
  • Lead multiple business plans and projects by identifying needs, setting priorities, removing obstacles, allocating resources, tracking progress, and adapting as needed to ensure success and continuous improvement.
