About The Position

The Senior Manager, Lease Accounting Center (LAC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring Walmart's global lease portfolio is accurately accounted for and disclosed in compliance with ASC 842 and IFRS 16 standards. This position blends deep technical expertise in lease accounting with strong leadership, operational excellence, and a customer-centric mindset. As a key member of the controllership team, the manager will oversee critical processes from record to report, contributing to Walmart's commitment to financial integrity and best-in-class service. This role will also train and develop talent and drive the adoption of best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related area OR 7+ years of experience with progressing levels of responsibility.
• Proven work experience with complex lease accounting technical conclusions, processes, and controls.
• Strong financial acumen and technical/analytical capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong project management experience and skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working on cross-functional teams or projects.
• Master's degree in business administration, accounting or related area.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee critical processes from record to report for Walmart's global lease portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 842 and IFRS 16 standards.
• Manage lease data abstraction, system reviews, controls ownership, and monthly closing.
• Contribute to footnote disclosures and other reporting.
• Train and develop talent within the Lease Accounting Center.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in lease accounting.
