About the position

In this role you will help lead social for the 8th largest retailer in the US, orchestrating how millions of devoted members experience our brand online. Our members aren't shy about telling us how much they love us (and occasionally what they might change — we actually listen!). You'll drive our content strategy, lead our passionate community management team, and transform agency briefs into groundbreaking campaigns that build both brand love and business results.

Responsibilities

  • Shape our most visible marketing channel directly tied to our ambitious growth goals.
  • Be the primary content visionary, translating brand territories into compelling social-first narratives.
  • Lead the community management team and set the standard for member engagement.
  • Serve as the primary content strategist, ensuring all social campaigns embody brand territories while driving business objectives.
  • Guide agency partners from creative brief to final execution.
  • Develop innovative approaches to content that help us compete beyond our share of voice.
  • Oversee the strategy and creative execution of important social media campaigns.
  • Support a content measurement framework that demonstrates social's impact on consideration and purchase intent.
  • Partner with the Director to evolve social strategy as platforms and member behavior change.
  • Create a cohesive approach across paid and organic social.
  • Mentor team members to develop future social media leaders.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in social media strategy, content development, or digital marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success developing content strategies that drive both brand metrics and business results.
  • Experience leading community management teams and establishing best practices for engagement.
  • Strong portfolio of social-first campaigns that demonstrate creative thinking and platform expertise.
  • Deep understanding of how paid and organic social work together to create holistic customer journeys.
  • Experience translating brand strategies into platform-specific content approaches.
  • Track record of successful agency management and the ability to provide clear creative direction.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience connecting social metrics to broader business outcomes.
  • History of mentoring and developing team members into high performers.
