About The Position

This role is a critical opportunity at the intersection of strategy, performance marketing, and business growth. The Senior Manager will own the strategy development for expanding Sam's Club's membership base, serving as the growth lead for acquisition. Acting as the bridge between Membership, Media, Finance, and external partners, this person will design and continuously refine strategies that drive measurable member growth while ensuring new members are high-value and primed for long-term engagement. The ideal candidate will understand that acquiring the right members is the foundation for retention, loyalty, and profitability. Success in this role means building strategies that balance immediate conversion with sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in acquisition strategy, performance marketing, or growth marketing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear insights and strategies.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and external agency partnerships.
  • Strategic thinker who can balance big-picture growth goals with tactical execution.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence.

Responsibilities

  • Translate consumer insights, market research, and competitive analysis into actionable acquisition strategies.
  • Build a deep understanding of audience demographics, behavioral patterns, and the member journey to shape targeting and messaging.
  • Leverage first- and third-party data to personalize experiences, optimize targeting, and attract high-value members.
  • Serve as the day-to-day strategic partner between Membership, Media, Finance, and external agencies.
  • Guide strategy, manage budgets, and ensure strong ROI while optimizing Member Acquisition Cost (MAC).
  • Monitor performance with a test-and-learn mindset, and lead A/B tests to improve conversion rates and inform future campaigns.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align acquisition strategies with broader business priorities and objectives.
  • Communicate strategies, results, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
